Yves Carini

The Way You Are New Album

Discover your new favorite crooner.

Yves Carini, with his immediately recognizable vocal style, makes his titles of nobility in French crooning with this new album.
With his neat vocal jazz pop between swing quartet and large classical Hollywood orchestra, he assumes the legacy of Yves Montand (of which Yves’ father, Jeff was the composer), of Michel Legrand and other Sacha Distels who left such a great void. in French production.
This 11 tracks (9 covers and 2 unreleased tracks) is produced with an extraordinary international team. Jorge Calandrelli, American arranger producer who has accumulated 6 Grammy Awards (28 nominations, 2 Oscar nominations), with to his credit all the discography of Tony Bennett, including the globally successful duet albums with Lady Gaga, Celine Dion albums, Andrea Bocelli, Shakira, Michael Bublé is a fan of Yves’ voice. So it was only natural that he agreed to produce 6 tracks from the French singer’s new opus: The Way You Are.
Randy Waldman, another renowned producer (Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Barbara Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson…) also joined this new project for 4 titles.

The result is breathtaking elegance, charm and musicality. Between the undeniable vocal mastery of Yves Carini, the silversmith of the arrangements of Jorge Calandrelli, the sharp nervousness of the Randy Waldman signature and an optimal choice of repertoire, The Way You Are signs the successful return of a crooner at the top of his art. . From the incredible “Hymne à l’Amour” all in delicacy, song rarely taken up by a man and revisited here with magic, to this bossa nova tribute to William Sheller with “Un Homme Heureux”, passing by a version never heard and masterful of “Estate”, a west coast symphonic version of “Les mots blues” by the late Christophe or a hard swing reading of Christine and the Queens hit “Saint Claude”, Yves Carini as usual, did not back down in front of the risk and the requirement. For the greatest pleasure of the public.

Yves Carini - un été parisien

Un été parisien

Released in 2005 on Nocturne, this is Yves Carini’s first album. Directed and arranged by Niels Lan Doky, it integrates the rhythm section of Diana Krall (Jeff Hamilton, Pierre Boussaguet and Ulf Wakenius who also accompanies Oscar Peterson). This album revealed Yves Carini to the general public. Made up of original songs, written and composed by Yves, but also covers including the highly acclaimed “Cimetière des éléphants” by Eddy Mitchell, this first opus was hailed by critics including Jazz Magazine, Classica Repertoire, Le Parisien or even Gala. It was among the best-selling jazz albums the year it was released in France.

Midnight rendez-vous

Released in 2007 by Nocturne, this is Yves Carini’s second album. Still mostly made up of music and texts created by Yves, this album explores a more modern tone. Philippe Saisse was kind enough to lend his talent as a producer to “La petite fille de Shangai”.
